I decided to try out a recipe that I'm hoping to work on in its entirety with all four of my sisters later this summer. There are three parts: the cake, the ganache, the frosting. I did just the cake yesterday. The recipe was designed to add junk to your trunk. No, seriously. The project as a whole already has a name, but I've decided to name the cake itself
NOBODY'S BUSINESS.
Don't even read the rest of this post if you can't handle a chocolate overdose.
The first ingredient is an entire box of unsweetened chocolate. Only had a tonne of cocoa and some chips at home - which is why I suggested to Big Boy we go on a biking excursion. *wink wink - but hey, he got a new bicycle bell out of it*
Everything was going fabulously. After all, it's always a great day when the use of my big fat mixer is required. And then I realized that I only have 8" round pans and not (I guess the standard) 9". Uh oh. That, and the fact that I had to scurry over to the school in time for dismissal (the bike excursion ran long, as you can see:
pushing the whole process down to finish at 3:28pm) resulted in this partial picture of the cake. I could show you the whole thing, but then I'd have to kill you.
Here's the finished product, with a generous helping of ooey gooey (= melted chocolate + condensed milk) on top. Not bad. Perfect with a big glass of milk (because ice cream with this may be over-the-top, even for me), a rainy day, and a big fork.
